Lot Management Enhancements & New SDS Maker

  • SDS File Maker Tool
    • A new SDS (Safety Data Sheet) file maker tool has been introduced. This tool will simplify the creation and management of safety documentation for your lab materials. For instance, you can easily generate an SDS for a new chemical compound, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Comments on Quick Destock Forms
    • Now you can add comments when performing a quick destock, providing context for why items are being removed. For example, you might note that a reagent is being used for a specific experiment or that a sample is being sent for external analysis.
    • Additionally, making comments mandatory ensures all necessary information is captured, improving traceability and communication within the lab.

Storage Improvements

  • Expanded Check-In/Check-Out Options

    • The check-in/check-out functionality now extends to straws (visotube), shelves, and bags. This allows for better tracking of various storage items. For example, you can now check out a specific straw from a liquid nitrogen tank for use in an experiment and later check it back in.
  • Management of Expired Tubes
    • Options have been added to either allow or block the use of expired tubes. Using expired tubes now requires prior confirmation, ensuring safe and compliant usage. For example, if a tube of reagent has passed its expiration date, you will receive a prompt asking you to confirm its use, helping to prevent accidental use of outdated materials.
  • Enhanced Check-In/Check-Out Filters

    • Filters have been improved to distinguish between checked-in and checked-out items. This provides a clearer overview of your storage inventory. For instance, you can easily see which items are currently in use and which are available in storage.

Purchase Order Management Enhancements

  • Primer Workflow Enhancements

    • When an order is marked as a primer, the PO (Purchase Order) can now be sent to the seller, requester, orderer, and a custom email, which helps facilitate communication and order processing.
  • New Order Types and Seller Status
    • New order types and seller status options have been added, allowing for more precise categorization and tracking of purchase orders.
  • Integration with Fisher Scientific for E-Orders

    • LabCollector now supports e-orders with Fisher Scientific, you can place an order directly through LabCollector, receive real-time updates on its status, and ensure timely delivery of lab supplies.
  • Internal Comments and Supplier Comments

    • Internal comments can now be added as PO tags, providing more detailed information on purchase orders. Additionally, supplier comments can be included, helping to clarify order details and requirements.

Audit Trail Search Improvements

  • Filter Audit Trail by Record Name

    • You can now filter audit trail searches by record name, making it easier to locate specific records within the audit log. For example, if you need to review the history of a particular sample, you can quickly find all related actions and changes.
  • Audit Trail Messages in Alert Maintenances

    • “Audit trail” messages have been added to alert maintenances, providing a complete overview of maintenance activities.

User Management Updates

  • Group Ownership of Records

    • Groups can now be designated as secondary owners of records for better collaboration and record management among lab teams. For example, if multiple researchers are working on the same project, they can all be assigned as secondary owners of relevant records at once, without having to assign them individually.

Alert/Maintenance Enhancements

  • Notification Resend for Unsuccessful Emails
    • If a notification email fails to send, the system will now attempt to resend it, ensuring important alerts are not missed.
  • Minimum Quantity Alerts for Chemicals

    • Alerts can now be set for minimum quantities of chemicals, helping you maintain adequate stock levels and avoid running out of essential materials.


Export/Filter/Search Improvements

  • New Search Options

    • Additional search options have been introduced, including filtering by NO data and keyword exclusion. These options provide more flexibility in finding specific records.
  • Enhanced Excel Export

    • The Excel export function now supports numeric, date, and time columns, ensuring data is exported in a consistent and usable format.

Custom Field Enhancements

  • Custom Date Field Parameters

    • New parameters have been added to custom date fields, allowing alerts to be activated based on a start date plus a specified number of days.
  • Age Calculation in Custom Fields

    • A new age calculation function has been added to calculated custom fields, enabling automatic age determination based on specified criteria.

Animal Module Improvements

  • Improved Animal Crossing Management

    • The “Add new crossing” pop-up has been improved, and a “Manage animal crossings” page has been added to tools. This makes managing animal crossings more intuitive and efficient.
    • You can now filter animal records based on their live or dead status.
    • Added icons to view all records from the same parents in the animals module.
    • Prohibited the choice of animals currently in crossing to prevent errors.

Recipe Module Enhancements

  • Duplicate Existing Recipes
    • You can now duplicate existing recipes, which should help with the process of creating similar recipes.
  • Combine Risks in Recipes
    • Recipes now allow the combination of risks, providing a complete overview of potential hazards.
  • Sum of Selected Lots Quantities
    • When selecting multiple recipes, the system will now show the sum of the selected lots quantities, making inventory management easier.
